From time to time we have to perform maintenance on our web and email servers to ensure that we stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies.  We usually perform maintenance online so it has no effect on websites and email hosted on that particular server, but once in a while we need to perform maintenance where that is not possible and we are forced to shut down that particular server.

On Friday 7 March 2008 we plan to relocate one of our servers to a new data center in Cape Town.  Currently this server had 178 problem free days with zero downtime, so this is not a common occurrence.  The server will experience downtime of approximately 15 minutes during the relocation process which should begin at 16:00.  All our customers who will be affected by this downtime have been notified via email.  Click here to contact our hosting department if you are not sure whether this downtime will have an effect on you.

The new data center features improved physical security as well as better generators which can deal with the electricity problems in South Africa in a more efficient manner. 

Our hosting team will ensure that you experience as little inconvenience as possible.  Please note that NO EMAILS WILL BE LOST since we have backup email servers in place to deal with all incoming emails during that period.
