You must complete the following steps to setup a new email account in Outlook Express. Click here to download this manual (Includes screen shots!):
Step 1: Open Outlook Express Click on Start -> Programs - > Outlook Express
Step 2: Open the account configuration window From within Outlook Express, select Tools and the Accounts…
Step 3: Select the Mail tab In the Internet Accounts window, select the Mail tab.
Step 4: Add a new mail account Click on Add and the select Mail…
Step 5: Enter Display Name On this screen you can enter a name that you would like your recipients to know you by. This can either be your business name or your own name. Click on Next when done.
Step 6: Enter E-mail Address Enter your email address in this field. Make sure of the spelling and type everything in lower case letters. Click on Next when done.
Step 7: E-mail Server Names Enter mail.yourdomain eg mail.mattelo.co.za, in both the incoming and outgoing mail server fields. Click Next when done.
Step 8: Mail Logon Details In the Account Name field, type your complete email address. Note that for email accounts hosted by Mattelo you must specify the complete username including the domain name. This means that if your email address is This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it you must specify the entire address and not just koos. Enter the password that was provided to you in the Password field. The password is case sensitive, so please make sure that uppercase and lowercase letters are used exactly as the password was given to you. Click Next when done.
Step 9: Finishing the wizard Click on Finish to complete your mail account setup.
Step 10: Outgoing Server Authentication After you exit the Mail Account Setup Wizard, you will be returned to the Mail Accounts window. You will notice your new account in the list. Click on the Properties button to the right of the window.
Step 11: Configure Server Properties After you have clicked Properties, a new window will appear on your screen. Select the Servers tab.
Step 12: Enable Mail Server Authentication Click in the checkbox next to My server requires authentication to enable this option. Click on OK when done.
Step 13: You’re done! In the Internet Accounts window click on Close to complete the setup procedure.
